St James Mission Hospital
The St. James Mission Hospital is the only Anglican Hospital in the Province of Southern Africa. St. James was founded in 1962 and opened its doors on September 7th, 1963. MAH operates with a capacity of 150 beds and a comprehensive range of health-care services, primarily to the approximately 100,000 people living in the 264 villages in its health service area, but many patients come from all other parts of the country as well. Mafeteng Hospital is managed by the Board of Governors under SDA Church. CHAL, which is a voluntary organization of six member Christian Churches, is the linking body between the GOL and the church hospitals in Lesotho where Mafeteng Hospital is a member. The Hospital’s Board is comprised of different entities: some members of ADCOM, Executive Officers from Lesotho Conference (SDA), and Southern African Union (SAU), the Rector of Mafeteng Hospital, community representatives, the Principal Chief and the Executive Director from CHAL.
